The Alströmer Collection manuscripts

A digitized catalogue

The Alströmer Collection came to the Library on deposit in1949. Its 231 printed compositions and some 700 mss., primarily after Patrick Alströmer (1733-1840), nobleman, industrialist and musical Liebhaber, make it  one of the most notable collections of eighteenth-century music in Sweden. 1)

The printed works are included in the Library's card catalogue.

The manuscripts have been catalogued for RISM. The records are included in the RISM (A/II) CD-ROM and online databases, but the present catalogue should be helpful both to those who do not have access to RISM and for a comprehensive overview of the contents of the collection. Full-text copies are not available here

The entire collection is available on microfilm. For further information or for ordering copies from the film, please contact the Library's  Rare Collections, rarecoll@muslib.se .
