Words must be searched exactly as written - this includes accented characters
and diacritics (a search for lonn won't find lönn).
To retrieve several terms in the same document (all words must occur)
- choose All in the drop-down menu (default)
All (berwald franz): "berwald" and "franz" must occur, not necessarily adjacent to each other
To retrieve documents with either of the terms, choose Any
Any (berwald franz): either "berwald" or "franz" may occur (as
well as all other Franz'es )
To exclude a term, choose Boolean and write not before
the term
Boolean (franz not berwald): "franz" must occur, "berwald"
must not occur
In searching for names, we recommend starting with the last name only, as the first name(s) may be listed as initials or some other abbreviated dform
It is not possible to search on parts of words (truncation)
When opening a hit, the search term is not marked - use the browser's general commands (in Windows: Ctrl-F, then F3 to find further hits) to find all occurrences of the word on a page
